Wait, what?? Why are you seeing straight hair on a curly profile??

We went waaaay outside the box for this one. This wonderful new client came in with her hair curling ironed. We had a very thorough consultation in which she stated that while she did want to get to a point where she wore her natural curl all of the time, currently she did style with an iron fairly often.

Some of y’all may know that I started my career and an organic salon that specialized in dry hair cutting. Most of our clients were cut dry after being ironed straight. The rationale behind that is you can see every step, line, and chunk in the hair when it’s straight, so if you can make it look clean while it’s straight, it’s definitely gonna be very blendy once styled.

So your girl went back to her roots for this one. We ironed her hair straight with low heat. as you can see, once ironed, you can see every flaw in her previous haircut. We were able to clean, blend and lighten her hair just as she wished. And once styled, everything blended beautifully. Now she will be able to wear her hair any way she wishes.

Note, THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOUR CURL PATTERNS ARE VERY CONSISTENT! If you have wildly varying curl patterns, this type of cutting will look a hot mess styled curly.
