Why you should buy products from your stylist!

Long caption please read!!

I had to go to the drugstore the other day to pick up some thing. Now mind you, this is a large national chain drugstore. I happened to see this display of Deva Curl products. I noticed that it was the old packaging (I had to look it up to be sure, but they reformulated and repackaged this entire line 3 years ago, so these products are at least three years old, possibly more), so I started taking a closer look at the products. They were not sealed, so I was able to open some of them and smell them. I used to work with Deva Curl, so I am very familiar with the products, their consistencies and their scents. Let me tell you that the scent of every single product that I picked up had gone off. A clear sign that the products were well beyond their expiration.

We’ve all seen the warnings about not buying professional products from non-salon retailers. And I’m sure a lot of people think that’s just because your stylist wants you to buy from them so that they can earn the commission. And while there is some truth to that matter, (I spent a lot of time learning the products and the line and learning how to handle each type of hair and make specific recommendations specifically for your hair, of course I want you to buy the product for me after all that work) that is clearly not the only reason. You’re talking about a national product line being sold at a national store chain and the product is clearly way beyond its usable life. Your stylist does not want you buying and using expired off products! We love you and we care about the health of your hair!
