Getting Day Two Hair

For those with curly hair, achieving day 2 hair can be a tricky feat. After a night of tossing and turning, curls can often become flattened or frizzy, leaving you feeling like a hot mess. However, there are a few tricks you can try to keep your curls looking fresh and defined for a second day.

First and foremost, invest in a silk or satin pillowcase. These materials are gentle on curly hair and help to prevent tangles and frizz. If you don't have a silk or satin pillowcase, consider wearing a silk or satin scarf or bonnet to bed.

Next, avoid using products that are too heavy or greasy on your curls. Opt for lightweight styling products that won't weigh your hair down. Apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or curl cream to refresh and define your curls. You can also use a spray bottle filled with water to lightly mist your curls and reactivate the product you applied on day 1.

Finally, try the "pineapple" method before going to bed. Gather your hair at the top of your head, loosely secure it with a scrunchie or hair tie, and let your curls cascade down around your face. This will help to maintain your curl pattern and prevent your curls from getting flattened.

By following these tips, you can wake up to beautiful, defined curls that are ready to take on day 2.
